Fernhill is a 16th century stone barn restored to a superior standard, situated in a small hamlet accessed by a private lane. The Barn & The Brow are surrounded by serene, breath taking views. Whether staying on business or pleasure you will be able to relax in comfort, with magnificent views of distant Derbyshire, or explore routes for ramblers and nature lovers alike.


We are proud to announce ‘The Barn’ has expanded to offer you increased capacity and convenience, at the same very high standards, with our new adjacent period style building ‘The Brow’ which offers all its accommodation at ground level. Fernhill has large, enclosed, garden & patio areas which benefit from elevated positions, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Fernhill also has a large private car park so parking is never a problem.

Fernhill is just a few minutes walk from the Mary Townley loop on the new Pennine bridle way at Rooley Moor, making it an ideal stop-off for horse riders and cyclists. We also have many footpaths on the doorstep, which makes Fernhill an ideal base for walkers. Choose from green fields with undulating scenery, or rugged moorland at the foot of the Pennines.
